N uu Technical and Vocational College is a public TVET institution located approximately 1 kilometer from Nuu Town in Mwingi Central Constituency, Kitui County. The college offers a variety of learning pathways focused on skills acquisition and practical competence.
The institution provides three major skills-based training pathways:
All programmes aim to enhance employability and promote lifelong learning through competency-based approaches.
1. Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET): The college offers modularised CBET programmes across both business and technical fields, equipping learners with the practical competencies needed in today’s job market.
2. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): The college is licensed by TVETA to offer RPL programmes in partnership with National Polytechnics. This initiative targets individuals without formal academic certifications, recognizing and certifying skills gained through work experience, self-learning, or informal training.
3. Dual Training Programme: The institution also runs Dual Training Programmes that integrate classroom instruction with real-world industrial experience. This model ensures learners acquire both theoretical knowledge and hands-on expertise in alignment with modern industry demands.
The programmes are deliberately designed and supported by the Government of Kenya under the TVET framework to ensure that learners acquire practical skills in their respective areas of training, thereby enhancing their employability and contribution to national development.
We take pride in our DUAL training programme, with 50% classroom learning and 50% industry experience, preparing trainees with both knowledge and practical skills for real-world success.
Our college implements the Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) model—a learner-centered approach that emphasizes the acquisition of practical skills and competencies aligned with industry standards.
Our workshops are equipped with state-of-the-art tools and technology, ensuring trainees gain practical, industry-relevant skills.
We pride ourselves on a high number of students successfully completing their courses, reflecting our commitment to quality education and support.
Our trainers are highly qualified, licensed by TVETA, and well-equipped to deliver exceptional training in TVET institutions.
Our dedicated help desk assists trainees in applying for government scholarships, ensuring the process is free, smooth, and accessible.
